Councilman Opposes Beach Booze Ban
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A city councilman has voiced opposition to banning alcohol at three of San Diego’s most popular beaches.
Although Councilman Kevin Faulconer opposes the ban, he wants to form a citizen task force to study alcohol problems in the communities he represents, including Pacific, Mission and Ocean beaches.
Proponents hope the ban will keep beaches clear of empty beer bottles and limit rowdy behavior.
The city recently banned smoking at parks and beaches.
