Calhoun hired to replace DeBerry at Air Force

Troy Calhoun became the first former Air Force player to head the Falcons’ football program, rejoining the program Friday as longtime coach Fisher DeBerry’s replacement.

Calhoun, 38, the starting quarterback for DeBerry in 1986, was an assistant coach with the Denver Broncos before becoming offensive coordinator of the Houston Texans this season.

Clemson suspended cornerback Duane Coleman after his arrest this week on suspicion of marijuana possession, and he will miss the Music City Bowl on Friday against Kentucky.

Rich Brooks, who coached Kentucky to a 7-5 record and its first postseason appearance since 1999, agreed to a contract extension. School officials said terms of the deal would not be released until January.
