No injuries, damage reported in 3.1 quake

A small earthquake rattled the desert Wednesday, but a dispatcher for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
The magnitude 3.1 temblor struck at 1:36 p.m. and was centered 8 miles northeast of Coachella, according to a preliminary report from the U.S. Geological Survey.
