Baby Dies as Father Naps Outside Casino
A 1-month-old child died while he and his father waited in a truck for the baby’s mother, who was in the Sycuan Resort and Casino, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
When the father awoke from a nap about 3:40 p.m. Wednesday, he found the baby dead. The mother had been in the casino for about six hours, officials said.
Preliminary results from an autopsy Thursday found no signs of trauma, and the case was not being treated as a homicide, authorities said.
The child was identified as Thomas Baca of Spring Valley.
