L.A. Unified Delivers Audits of District to City
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Accompanied by a police escort, the Los Angeles Unified School District used a truck to deliver 784 audits, reports and studies about the schools to City Hall on Friday morning.
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa wants to take control of the schools, and City Controller Laura Chick has announced her intent to audit the district.
Chick, who requested the reports in December, said they would provide “bedtime reading” and that she still intended to audit the district, in part to see if any of the 784 reports led to change.
