Connecticut Ends DePaul’s Streak

Barbara Turner had 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists to lead No. 5 Connecticut to an 84-75 victory over No. 12 DePaul on Saturday night at Chicago. The Huskies, 19-2 overall, 8-0 Big East, have won seven in a row and 13 of 14.

Khara Smith had 24 points and 12 rebounds for the Blue Demons (18-3, 5-3). The loss ended DePaul’s 33-game home winning streak, which had been the second-longest in the nation behind Western Illinois.

No. 9 Baylor 90, Kansas 40 -- The Bears (15-3, 5-3 Big 12) used a 29-10 run to take a 75-33 lead with just over seven minutes left at Waco, Texas. The Jayhawks (13-5, 2-5) committed 23 turnovers leading to 37 Bear points.

No. 10 Rutgers 65, Georgetown 51 -- Cappie Pondexter scored 24 points at Washington to lead the Scarlet Knights (15-3, 7-0) to their 15th consecutive Big East Conference win. The Hoyas (8-11, 1-7) have lost five in a row and seven of eight.

No. 13 Oklahoma 81, Texas A&M; 72 -- Freshman Courtney Paris, a 6-foot-4 center who leads the Big 12 Conference in scoring, had 18 points, 14 rebounds, five assists and two blocks to lead the Sooners (17-4, 7-0) past the Aggies (16-5, 5-3) at College Station, Texas.

No. 18 New Mexico 60, Nevada Las Vegas 47 -- The Lobos (16-4, 6-1) shot a season-low 28.3% but used solid defense to beat the Rebels (12-6, 4-3) and extend their homecourt winning streak in Mountain West Conference games to 31 in a row.

No. 19 Arizona State 67, Washington 61 -- Amy Denson scored 18 points off the bench, including a one-handed leaner with 44 seconds left, to help the Sun Devils (16-5, 7-4 Pacific 10) defeat the Huskies (14-6, 7-4) at Seattle.

No. 20 Brigham Young 70, Colorado State 54 -- The Cougars (17-1, 7-0 Mountain West), who led by as many as 27 points midway through the second half at Provo, Utah, won their ninth in a row. The Rams (7-11, 1-6) lost their sixth in a row.

South Florida 68, No. 21 Notre Dame 64 -- The Bulls (14-7, 4-4 Big East), who led by 15 points, needed Jessica Jackson’s three-point basket with 2:12 left in overtime for a 65-62 lead. The Irish (12-7, 3-5) cut the lead to a point, but Jessica Dickson added two free throws with 20 seconds left .
