Officials at Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday removed nine commercial vehicles from service and cited 149 drivers for mechanical and administrative violations, a spokesman said.

Airport police, CHP officers and regulatory agents inspected limousines, door-to-door shuttles and long-distance vans, and found unsafe brakes, steering defects and bad suspensions, as well as operators driving without permits, licenses or insurance.
