Driver Struck by Train at Jurupa Crossing Dies
A Riverside man whose truck was struck by a Metrolink train has died, officials said Thursday.
Joshua Allen Freeman, 19, died Wednesday after a commuter train slammed into the driver’s side of his pickup on the tracks at the Jurupa Avenue crossing, according to a Riverside County coroner’s report.
The Los Angeles-bound train hit the pickup at 6:25 a.m. and pushed it more than 2,000 feet, authorities said. None of the 98 passengers and two crew members aboard the train was hurt. Several morning commuter routes were delayed, Metrolink officials said.
