The body of a man was found Wednesday in the back of a Lincoln Navigator in the parking lot of a Walgreens drugstore in Echo Park, authorities said.

The man appeared to be between 30 and 40 years old, according to Jason Lee, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman.

“There appears to be no forced entry or any visible trauma, including gunshot wounds,” he said. “We’re handling it as a suspicious death.”

Police received a call about the body at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday from the store on Sunset Boulevard. “Right now, it doesn’t appear to be a homicide, but our homicide detectives were at the scene,” Lee said.

“Reportedly, the car was there for a couple of days,” he added.

The body and the vehicle have been taken to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
