Police Searching for Jewelry Robber
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Police investigators are searching for a man who stole about $50,000 in jewelry from a worker in the Fox Hills Mall on Saturday.
Police say the man, a light-skinned African American in his 20s, entered the Time Zone store about 10 a.m. and took several pieces of jewelry from an employee. The employee and a bystander chased the robber, who fled to the Jefferson Park area in a getaway car.
Los Angeles police officers encircled the area around Exposition Boulevard and Victoria Avenue, but the suspect eluded capture.
