Crews Gain on Big Bear Fire
From the Associated Press
Firefighters, aided by dying winds and increased humidity, made steady progress Sunday against a 327-acre blaze burning on forestland six miles east of the mountain resort town of Big Bear Lake.
The fire was 85% contained and was not threatening any homes, authorities said. No time frame was given for full containment, but only seven additional acres had burned between Saturday night and Sunday.
More than 560 firefighters were assigned to the blaze in the San Bernardino National Forest.
