Former Student Arrested in Shooting of Principal

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of shooting a high school principal with a pellet gun during a graduation ceremony.
William Castle was taken into custody Friday for investigation of assault with a weapon likely to produce great bodily injury. He was being held at the Marin County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
Police said Castle was a former student at Sir Francis Drake High School, where the shooting occurred.
Principal Don Drake did not require medical attention for the wound on his right thumb.
