Man Admits Seeking Sex With ‘Minor’ Met Online
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A Fountain Valley man pleaded guilty in Los Angeles federal court Tuesday to using the Internet to solicit sex from a minor, authorities said.
Daniel Ross Best, 52, had propositioned an FBI agent masquerading as a seventh-grader named “Melissa” in an Internet chat room called “I Love Much Older Men,” court records show.
Best was arrested in January when he drove to a West Los Angeles mall to meet “Melissa.” His sentencing is set for Aug. 28. The crime carries a mandatory minimum five-year prison term.
