Stabbing Death Follows Minor Car Accident
A fender bender led to the stabbing death of a Costa Mesa man, authorities said Wednesday.
Daniel Martinez Rios, 33, died late Tuesday after an argument with neighbor Evelio Aguilar Gomez, 28, in the 2500 block of Santa Ana Avenue. The argument occurred after a car driven by Rios’ girlfriend, whose name was not released, allegedly hit Gomez’s Ford F150 pickup truck, police said.
The two men exchanged punches, then Gomez allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed Rios several times before taking off in his truck, police said.
Rios was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana where he died.
Anyone with information on Gomez’s whereabouts is asked to call the Costa Mesa Police Department at (714) 754-5206.
