The only trainer to have won the $100,000 Sharp Cat Stakes at Hollywood Park remains David Hofmans.

Hofmans, who won the inaugural Sharp Cat a year ago with Balance, got the money again in the ungraded race Sunday when Runway Rosie, a 5-1 shot, rallied between horses in the stretch to beat Spenditallbaby by a half-length. Back In The Shade was third, two lengths in front of 2-1 favorite Kimmy Potter.

Owned by Class Racing Stable and Allen and Leslie Rosenblum, the gray daughter of Include ran the 1 1/16 miles under jockey Garrett Gomez in 1:45.40.

Proudinsky, the 3-5 favorite, won the $100,000 Bay Meadows Derby on Sunday at Bay Meadows. Patrick Valenzuela rode the 3-year-old German bred for owner Gary Tanaka and trainer Bobby Frankel in the Grade III stakes race. It was the second win in six starts for Proudinsky, who ran the 1 1/8 miles on turf in 1:48.27. Bold Chieftain finished second and Bedlam Bertie third.
