No. 21 Brigham Young 33, Utah 31: John Beck scrambled away from trouble and threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Jonny Harline with no time left to rally the Cougars (10-2, 8-0) over the Utes (7-5, 5-3) in a Mountain West Conference game at Salt Lake City. Utah had won four in a row over BYU. With 3.2 seconds left, Beck rolled to his left and was still scrambling to find an open receiver well after time expired. Beck reversed to his right, then threw across his body to Harline, who on his knees tucked the ball into his chest.

at New Mexico 41, San Diego State 14: Rodney Ferguson ran for a career-high 210 yards and two touchdowns, and the Lobos (6-6, 4-4) scored 24 first-quarter points off three interceptions and a defensive stop to beat the Aztecs (2-9, 2-5) in a Mountain West game at Albuquerque.

Texas Christian 45, at Colorado State 14: Aaron Brown scored three touchdowns and rushed for 166 yards to lead the Horned Frogs (9-2, 5-2) over the Rams (4-7, 1-6) in a Mountain West game at Fort Collins. TCU, which has won six in a row, had 606 yards of offense.

No. 12 Boise State 38, at Nevada 7: Ian Johnson ran for 147 yards and three touchdowns and Jared Zabransky passed for 299 yards to lead the Broncos (12-0, 8-0) over the Wolf Pack (8-4, 5-3) in a Western Athletic Conference game at Reno, all but securing a spot in the Bowl Championship Series. Boise State entered No. 11 in the BCS and must finish No. 12 or better to qualify for one of the big-money bowls.

New Mexico State 42, at Utah State 20: Chase Holbrook threw four touchdowns and New Mexico State (3-8, 1-6) ended a 21-game losing streak against Division I-A schools by beating Utah State (1-11, 1-7) in a WAC game at Logan.

San Jose State 28, at Idaho 13: Patrick Perry rushed for only 64 yards but scored three touchdowns to lead the Spartans (7-4, 4-3) over the Vandals (4-8, 3-5) in a WAC game at Moscow.

at No. 25 Hawaii 42, Purdue 35: Colt Brennan threw three second-half touchdown passes, including the go-ahead 23-yarder to Ian Sample with 1:27 left, and the Warriors (10-2) rallied for 22 fourth-quarter points to beat the Boilermakers (8-5) at Honolulu. Brennan finished 33 for 48 for 434 yards and is three touchdown passes shy of tying former Houston quarterback David Klingler’s NCAA single-season touchdown mark of 54 set in 1990.

at UC Davis 37, San Diego 27: Jon Grant completed 25 of 39 passes for 348 yards and three touchdowns to help the Aggies (6-5) defeat the Toreros (10-1) and their 18-game winning streak. Josh Johnson passed for 344 yards and two touchdowns for San Diego.
