Own up to it

So if I understand the Kings’ management correctly, it’s the fans’ fault that attendance is down this season? Apparently the blame does not lie at the feet of out-of-town owner Philip Anschutz, who admittedly does not even follow the team or attend games and is evidently so embarrassed by his association with the team that his media guide entry is but four lines without even a photo?

What about criticizing the team’s marketing department (if there even is one) for having all summer to capture the city’s attention only to end up with the tagline “Play Hard!”? My kids’ third-grade class could have come up with something better than that.

Kings fans have put up with AEG’s lies for the 10 long years they have run the team into the ground and the only way to get back at them and hopefully force them to sell the team to an owner who actually wants to win the Stanley Cup (heck, at this point I’d even settle for one who wants to watch a game) is to stop buying the inferior product they are trying to shove down our throats.

If only the Kings could pass the puck as well as AEG passes the buck ...

Dean Lombardi inherited a Kings team that had salary cap space and needed some help. He got a goalie and defenseman but blew it by getting rid of Pavol Demitra and Tim Gleason for prospects. As Kings fans know, prospects don’t always work out so well for us.

My Kings jersey will be in storage until these prospects become stars. And I don’t mean Dallas Stars.
