After Driver Passes Out, Auto Kills Family of 3
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A car whose driver passed out behind the wheel jumped a curb and killed a couple and their 2-year-old son as the family walked near a busy intersection, authorities said Saturday.
Santa Clara police said the motorist, Vaciliki Papademetriou, 43, had a preexisting health condition that caused her to lose consciousness while driving.
The couple, described only as a 29-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman, died Friday night when the car struck them.
