* Arizona 7, at Washington 1: Brandon Webb delivered much better results in his second start of the season, giving up seven hits in seven innings. He struck out eight and lowered his earned-run average from 9.00 to 4.50 -- he gave up five earned runs in five innings Monday at Colorado. The Nationals fell to 1-5 in becoming the only major league club since 1900 to trail by at least 4-0 in each of its first six games.

* at Florida 8, Philadelphia 5: Josh Willingham drove in four runs with his first homer, a triple and a double. He had hits in his first three at-bats and batted in the seventh needing a single to become the first player to hit for the cycle in the Marlins’ 15-year history. He fouled off five two-strike pitches from Ryan Madson, then struck out swinging.

* at Atlanta 5, New York 3: John Smoltz outpitched former teammate Tom Glavine to help the Braves hand the Mets their first loss of the season. The Braves batted around and scored three runs in the sixth inning to take a 5-2 lead.

* Chicago 6, at Milwaukee 5: Carlos Zambrano, who struck out four of the first six batters he faced, limited the Brewers to five hits and three runs in seven innings. He also hit a run-scoring single.

* at Houston 5, St. Louis 1: Roy Oswalt pitched a five-hitter, and Carlos Lee and Lance Berkman homered to help the Astros win their first game of the season. It was Oswalt’s first complete game since July 5.

* at Cincinnati 7, Pittsburgh 5: Adam Dunn’s wind-blown fly ball deflected off right fielder Xavier Nady’s glove and cleared the wall for a two-run homer, helping the Reds improve to 4-1.

* at San Diego 3, Colorado 2: Adrian Gonzalez doubled with one out in the ninth inning to drive in Jose Cruz Jr. with the winning run. Trevor Hoffman got his first victory since 2005.

* Dodgers 4, at San Francisco 1: Derek Lowe worked ahead in the count and limited the Giants to four hits in seven innings.
