Calf injury sidelines Payton

Miami Heat guard Gary Payton will miss about two weeks because of a torn left calf muscle suffered in Monday’s practice, the team said Tuesday.

Payton is averaging 5.3 points and 2.9 assists.

Cleared in February of assaulting a male exotic dancer and his fiance outside a Toronto strip club in 2003, three players -- including the Clippers’ Sam Cassell and Payton -- were sued for $18 million in damages by Vida Asante and Adrian Cimpean in Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

The Milwaukee Bucks and NBA were also included in the suit. Former player Jason Caffey, Cassell and Payton’s then-teammate on the Bucks, was also included.
