RESULTS
* New York 6, at Chicago 2: Carlos Delgado hit a go-ahead double off Ryan Dempster to key a four-run ninth inning. Delgado’s double followed a leadoff walk to David Wright as the Mets (62-47) moved 15 games over .500 for the first time since early June. Delgado scored on Shawn Green’s two-out double, giving the Mets a 4-2 lead.
* Houston 8, at Florida 2: Dontrelle Willis lost his eighth consecutive decision as Roy Oswalt shut down the Marlins. Oswalt yielded a run and four hits over six innings. Eric Bruntlett had a career-high four RBIs for the Astros.
* Cincinnati 13, at Pittsburgh 4: Ken Griffey Jr. hit one of the Reds’ four home runs and they had a season-high 19 hits to halt a five-game losing streak.
* at Washington 3, St. Louis 2: Ryan Zimmerman’s run-scoring single in the ninth inning gave the Nationals their fourth win in a row. Pinch-hitter Tony Batista led off the ninth with a single. Felipe Lopez hit into a force play before Ronnie Belliard singled. Zimmerman then drove in Lopez from second.
* at Milwaukee 2, Philadelphia 1: Yovani Gallardo, filling in for the injured Ben Sheets, won his third straight decision, retiring 14 straight batters in one stretch.
* Colorado 9, at Atlanta 2: Garrett Atkins hit a three-run home run to back Jeff Francis (12-5).
* at San Diego 4, San Francisco 3 (10 innings): Scott Hairston homered to left with one out in the 10th.
* Arizona 1, at Dodgers 0: Chris Snyder homered in the eighth.
