Marco Scutaro hit a grand slam in the first inning to help the A’s build a 7-0 lead. The Rangers tied it in the ninth on Michael Young’s home run.

Cleveland 4, at Minnesota 0: Paul Byrd (10-4) pitched a four-hitter and Travis Hafner homered to silence the Twins, who have scored more than four runs only once in their last 14 games.

at Detroit 6, Tampa Bay 4: Ryan Raburn hit a tiebreaking single in a four-run seventh inning for the Tigers, who ended their longest losing steak of the season at five games.
