* Tampa Bay 7, at Detroit 1: Dioner Navarro had three hits, including a two-run homer, and the Devil Rays ended an eight-game road losing streak. Delmon Young and Carlos Pena both drove in two runs in Tampa Bay’s third win in its last 22 road games.

* at Toronto 15, New York 4: Vernon Wells had four RBIs and Roy Halladay (13-5) struck out eight over seven innings. Frank Thomas had three RBIs for the Blue Jays, who have won nine of their last 11 home games. Alex Rodriguez of the Yankees sat out the game one day after being hit on his right calf by a pitch from Toronto’s Josh Towers.

* Seattle 8, at Baltimore 4: Jose Vidro homered and drove in four runs and Ichiro Suzuki had three hits for the Mariners, who have won eight of 11.

* Minnesota 11, at Kansas City 4: Michael Cuddyer’s home run keyed the Twins’ biggest inning in more than a month, and Johan Santana won his ninth decision in a row. Santana (12-9) went six innings and is 9-0 in his last 12 starts and 12-3 lifetime against the Royals.

* at Chicago 6, Cleveland 4 (13 innings): Jose Contreras (6-14), making his first regular-season relief appearance since 2003, got the victory by pitching two innings.

* Oakland 6, at Texas 3: Rob Bowen went deep from both sides of the plate for his first career multi-homer game and Lenny DiNardo gave up three runs over six innings. The Rangers have lost six of seven.

* Boston 9, at Angels 6: Dustin Pedroia hit a tiebreaking home run in the seventh inning.
