From Times Wire Reports

Hundreds of homes statewide remained threatened by wildfires, and meteorologists said firefighters shouldn’t expect any help from the weather.

More than 611,000 acres had been scorched by 19 wildfires, according to the National Interagency Fire Center. Scores have fled their homes, but officials were faced with the prospect of removing dozens of holdouts.

A weather front bringing high temperatures, wind and thunderstorms with little promise of rainfall was predicted to sweep across the state, said Robyn Heffernen, a fire weather expert at the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise.
