8 are injured as balcony collapses
Eight people sustained minor injuries after falling from a patio balcony that collapsed Saturday night, authorities said Sunday.
Four women and four men were standing on the balcony of a two-story home when the balcony cracked and gave way, sending those on it tumbling eight to 10 feet to the ground.
The Los Angeles Fire Department and other rescue personnel transported the victims to hospitals in stable condition, said Fire Department spokesman Brian Ballton.
