* Calgary 5, at St. Louis 3: Former Duck Andy McDonald had a goal and an assist in his debut for the Blues, but St. Louis lost its fourth in a row. Jarome Iginla and Daymond Langkow had two goals apiece for the Flames.

* at New Jersey 4, Philadelphia 2: John Madden scored two goals and Martin Brodeur made 29 saves, including a game-turning penalty shot stop, to lift the Devils to their 10th straight victory over the Flyers in New Jersey.

* Phoenix 5, at N.Y. Rangers 1: Joel Perrault scored twice and added an assist in only his second game of the season, and Ilya Bryzgalov made 34 saves. Phoenix scored four goals on 11 shots in the second period.

* Florida 3, at Chicago 1: Jay Bouwmeester recorded a goal and an assist to end an eight-game stretch without a point, and Tomas Vokoun made 44 saves for the Panthers. Chicago lost for the sixth time in seven games.

* San Jose 2, at Ducks 1 (SO): Joe Thornton beat Jean-Sebastien Giguere to lift the Sharks in the shootout.
