UC Irvine (4-5) at Sam Houston State (9-0), 5 PST -- The Anteaters have won consecutive games for the first time this season as they begin a string of five road games. Junior guard Brett Lauer has made 14 of 25 three-point attempts (56%). Sam Houston State is holding opponents to 54.4 points a game.

Montana (5-6) at Cal State Fullerton (5-2), 7 -- The Titans are forcing 20.1 turnovers but are allowing opponents to shoot 49.6%. Forward Scott Cutley is averaging 10 rebounds since returning to the starting lineup. Montana has lost four consecutive games, including a Nov. 30 game against Fullerton.

Vanguard (8-2) at Cal State Northridge (6-2), 7 -- The Matadors are averaging 80.1 points and have four players scoring in double figures and two averaging 7.5 rebounds or more. Vanguard, an NAIA school, has won six consecutive games after beating Mesa State on Wednesday night.

USC (5-4) vs. Grambling State (1-6), Women of Troy Classic, 7 -- USC is unbeaten in three games at the Galen Center. Heather Oliver, who averaged 4.7 points the first seven games, has looked good in back-to-back starts in which she averaged 9.5 points. Grambling has lost six in a row. The Tigers are led by Kourtney Sherman (12.7 points). In the early game, Portland State (8-1) plays Hawaii (4-5) at 4:45 p.m.
