Update -- Rarely has a team needed a Christmas break more than the Kings, who dropped seven consecutive games before the three-day layoff. They’ve won twice in December. The Sharks are also slumping, having lost four of their last five, and held a two-hour players-only meeting Friday. The two biggest questions for the Kings, in terms of health, have to do with forwards Dustin Brown and Michael Cammalleri. Brown, injured against Detroit in the first game of the three-game trip, was close to returning Saturday against Nashville but was held out to give his injured shoulder more rest. Cammalleri suffered a rib injury 5:25 into the Predators game and did not return. Joe Thornton leads the Sharks with 40 points.
