Arizona Coach Lute Olson was certain his team was going to pull ahead down the stretch. He was more concerned about what would happen next.

Chase Budinger had 30 points and 10 rebounds, Ivan Radenovic made a go-ahead jumper with six seconds left and the 24th-ranked Wildcats rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit to defeat No. 13 Oregon, 77-74, Saturday at Eugene, Ore.

“I wanted the ball on the last play and coach said, ‘Don’t worry about it, we’re going to make this basket. Then make sure we defend,’ ” Radenovic said.

The Wildcats (17-7 overall, 8-5 in the Pacific 10 Conference) took a 73-66 lead on a three-point basket by Budinger, but Aaron Brooks made two free throws with 57 seconds left to cut it to 73-71, and Tajuan Porter made a three-point basket to give the Ducks (20-5, 8-5) a 74-73 lead with 22.2 seconds left.

Right after the shot, Oregon Coach Ernie Kent fell in front of the scorer’s table and came up clutching his left arm with a probable rotator-cuff injury. Before the season, Kent had surgery on the other arm.

Arizona regained the lead on Radenovic’s turnaround jump shot, and Budinger made two free throws for the final margin.

“We knew we had to stick with it,” Budinger said. “We knew things would go our way and we could go on a big run if we made some shots.”

Brooks, who led the Pac-10 with an 18.1-point average coming into the game, did not score in the first half for the second game in a row. He finished with six points on two-for-14 shooting.

No. 14 Washington State 59, California 46 -- The victory at Pullman, Wash., moved the Cougars (21-4, 10-3) to within half a game of first-place UCLA.

The Cougars, who won their fourth game in a row, reached 21 wins for the first time since the 1991-92 team went 22-11. The Golden Bears (12-12, 4-8) made only 16 of 46 shots (34%) in losing their sixth in a row.

Oregon State 59, Arizona State 55 -- The lead changed six times in the second half at Corvallis, Ore., and the Beavers (10-16, 2-11) took it for the final time on a jump shot by Wesley Washington with 7:24 left. That basket started a 7-0 run that gave them a 56-50 lead with 4:28 left.

The Sun Devils (6-18, 0-13), who lost their 14th in a row, have lost their last four games by a total of 14 points, including a 55-51 defeat at No. 13 Oregon on Thursday night.
