The Denver Nuggets came into the All-Star break with victories in three of their last four games, but the combination of Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson had nothing to do with it. Iverson was sidelined for all four of those games by a sprained right ankle, the Nuggets are 8-12 since they traded for him, and they’re only 2-4 in games with both Iverson and Anthony.

Anthony, though, has excelled in the last four games, averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 6.2 assists.

With or without Iverson, Anthony’s surge will be tested this week with games against San Antonio, Utah and Dallas.

Charlotte Bobcats forward Adam Morrison is the second-leading rookie scorer in the league, but it’s not because of his play at home.

Morrison, averaging 12.7 points overall, is averaging 11 points and shooting 33.4% in 26 home games. In 26 road games, he is averaging 14.3 points and shooting 41.5%.

“The fans have been great, but some of the expectations and some of the stuff I hear when I’m going up and down the court at home, it feels like I’m on the road,” Morrison said.

VEGAS, BABY

Chicago has not had an All-Star since Michael Jordan was named in 1998, his final season with the Bulls.... The Washington Wizards’ Gilbert Arenas planned to bring 100 All-Star jerseys with the word “Agent” instead of “Arenas” above his number zero on the back and toss them to fans. He also said he might try to wear one when he enters the game.... Twelve teams won’t have a player in today’s game.... Las Vegas officials said there have been talks about the game returning in 2011.
