Georgia Tech suspends a standout
Georgia Tech’s Lewis Clinch was suspended for the rest of the season Friday after violating school policy, costing the Yellow Jackets their third-leading scorer heading into the bulk of the Atlantic Coast Conference schedule.
The sophomore guard was averaging 13.2 points, shooting 53.2% from the field and 47.6% from three-point range. He ranked among the ACC leaders in all three categories.
Georgia Tech did not reveal the nature of Clinch’s violation, but said he wanted to work with the school to remain enrolled. His status will be determined next week when spring semester classes begin.

UC Riverside announced that men’s assistant coach Mark Wade is no longer involved with the program. The departure is a personnel matter, and no further information will be released, a university spokeswoman said.
