* Oakland 11, at New York 5: Jack Cust and Dan Johnson homered in the Athletics’ seven-run second inning. Dan Haren (10-2) pitched 5 1/3 innings to win his career-best 10th straight decision and improve to 4-0 in seven starts against the Yankees. New York lost for the ninth time in its last 11 games.

* at Seattle 2, Toronto 1: Jose Guillen hit a tying home run in the eighth inning and a game-ending single in the ninth to help the Mariners to their eighth straight victory. Jeremy Accardo (1-3) began the bottom of the ninth by walking Adrian Beltre. Raul Ibanez then singled before Guillen’s hit.

* at Cleveland 3, Tampa Bay 2: Cliff Lee (5-4) struck out nine to win for the third time in four starts for the Indians, who won for the sixth time in seven games. Lee struck out the side on 13 pitches in the first inning. James Shields (6-4) struck out 10 in 6 1/3 innings but lost his fourth straight start.

* Texas 2, at Boston 1: Kameron Loe (5-6) won his fourth consecutive start, and Michael Young had two hits for the Rangers. Eric Gagne entered with two out in the eighth when Akinori Otsuka left because of an undisclosed injury. He retired Alex Cora on a groundout, then pitched a hitless ninth for his 10th save.

* Chicago 3, at Kansas City 1: Jon Garland (6-5), aided by Paul Konerko’s 15th home run, helped the White Sox close out a 6-1 trip. Garland pitched seven innings and gave up one run on seven hits. Bobby Jenks pitched the ninth for his 22nd save in 24 chances.

* at Detroit 1, Minnesota 0: Jeremy Bonderman and Todd Jones combined to retire the final 10 Twins batters.

* Angels 4, at Baltimore 3: John Lackey improved to 6-2 with a 3.41 earned-run average against the Orioles.
