Thanks to a four-day carry-over of more than $3.2 million, Hollywood Park shattered the North American record for a total pick-six pool Monday.

A total of $7,596,347 was bet into the pick six Monday, making the total pool $10,870,852, easily eclipsing the record of $7,303,848 set March 3, 2004, at Santa Anita. That figure was reached after the Arcadia track had a three-day carry-over of $1,413,136.

When all was said and done, there were 13 winning tickets worth $576,064.40 apiece. There were 807 consolations for five of six winners worth $2,240.40 each.

The amount bet Monday also was a single-day record for pick-six wagering, bettering the $6,494,193 set on Breeders’ Cup Day in 1998 at Churchill Downs.

Skipaslew, who was 11-10, and 2-1 shot Lt. Lorraine were the only winning favorites in the pick six.

The biggest surprise was posted by 18-1 shot Extreme Notice in the eighth and final race of the day.

A first-time starter trained by Paddy Gallagher for owner-breeder Ron Waranch, the 3-year-old son of Northern Afleet rallied from far back to beat 8-1 Oh Shine at the wire and win under jockey Jose Valdivia Jr.

Uncle Bucky, a 73-1 shot in the finale, would have created another carry-over of about $7.4 million had he been able to win the race.

But the 3-year-old Tricky Creek colt, who had finished in front of only one horse in his first three starts while losing by a combined 77 3/4 lengths, finished last.

In the day’s main event, the $78,450 Honest Lady Handicap, Desire to Excel, a 5-1 shot, handed 9-10 favorite Glorified her first loss, winning by three-quarters of a length.

Making her second start in California for owner JMJ Racing Stables LLC and trainer Marty Jones after winning two of five in New York and Florida in 2006 and this year, the 3-year-old Mt. Livermore filly ran the 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:16 under jockey Victor Espinoza. Coco Belle finished third.
