* Atlanta 5, at San Diego 4: Brian McCann homered and drove in four runs against Greg Maddux, and the Braves held off a Padres ninth-inning rally.

* at Washington 7, Milwaukee 2: Ryan Zimmerman’s two-run homer ignited a six-run rally in the sixth inning, and Tim Redding won his first start in almost three years.

* at Pittsburgh 6, Chicago 2: Jason Bay, slumping for more than a month, hit a two-run homer and drove in four runs, and Shane Youman held Chicago to two runs over six innings.

* at Cincinnati 4, Arizona 3 (11 innings): Scott Hatteberg’s two-out single in the 11th inning -- his fourth hit of the game -- gave the Reds the win. The Reds have won a season-high four in a row and are 5-1 under interim Manager Pete Mackanin, who took over when Jerry Narron was fired.

* at St. Louis 7, San Francisco 0: Barry Bonds was 0 for 3 and remained at 751 home runs, Chris Duncan drove in three runs for St. Louis and the Cardinals avoided a three-game sweep. Duncan’s two-run double in the fifth knocked out Barry Zito (6-9).

* at Houston 8, New York 3: Roy Oswalt tossed seven effective innings and Chris Burke hit a two-run homer for the Astros. Mets starter Dave Williams gave up 10 hits and eight runs in only 3 1/3 innings.

* Philadelphia 8, at Colorado 4: Jimmy Rollins had three hits -- including two run-scoring singles -- and Pat Burrell hit his 11th homer of the season for the Phillies. Adam Eaton (8-5) won for the first time since June 11, pitching six innings and giving up four runs and eight hits. He also struck out three.

* at Dodgers 9, Florida 3: Russell Martin hit a two-run homer and Andre Ethier added a three-run shot to avoid a sweep heading into the All-Star break.
