Man stable after chase and drive-by shooting
A motorist was in stable condition after being cut off early Saturday near LAX and followed to South Los Angeles, where he was shot, police said.
About 2:15 a.m., a 19-year-old man from Inglewood was driving near Los Angeles International Airport when an unidentified man and woman in a Volvo cut in front of his vehicle. They followed him to Hyde Park, between West Boulevard and Brynhurst Avenue, where several rounds were fired from their vehicle, said Los Angeles Police Officer Karen Smith.
The man was struck in the upper torso and taken to a hospital by a private party, Smith said.
Police did not know whether the incident was gang-related.
