Couples night at the ESPYs

David Beckham waited until the day after the 2007 ESPY Awards to land in L.A., thereby giving other sports stars a fighting chance to get some attention. The New Orleans Saints’ 1. Reggie Bush gave props to his mini-me, which was used in an animated skit during the July 11 award show at the Kodak Theatre, while Indy 500 winner 2. Dario Franchitti brought along his real-life plus one, wife Ashley Judd. 3. Jimmy Kimmel got dwarfed by cohost LeBron James, who donned a crown and even MC Hammer-style parachute pants to entertain the crowd. A stylish soiree swings into Thicke of the night

Move over, Justin Timberlake! Another high-note-hitting pop singer had the ladies swooning at the Details magazine cocktail party at the Louis Vuitton boutique in Beverly Hills on July 12: 4. Robin Thicke. The host held court by the DJ booth and chatted with LV-clad gals, including Serena Williams, Rosario Dawson, and actress-cum-pop singer 5. Emmy Rossum, who made a well-coiffed appearance. While his wife, Paula Patton, and famous TV father, Alan Thicke, missed the rooftop affair, stepmom Tanya showed up to support the fam’s soulful chart-topper.

Three’s a crowd-pleaser at the ‘C&L;’ premiere

7. Jessica Biel looked smoking hot in a wedding-white Giambattista Valli dress at the “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry” premiere on July 12. Her costars Adam Sandler, left, and Kevin James momentarily left their wives to pose alongside their sexy co-star at Universal City’s Gibson Amphitheatre. Another hottie fired up the crowd at the after-party: a shirtless dancer, dressed up as a fireman, who popped out of a gigantic tiered cake.

Reaching beyond the Target audience

High-end designers Proenza Schouler created a collection for the people this year through their partnership with Target’s Go International. But clipboard queen Amanda Demme hardly let the hoi polloi into a soiree she threw in their honor on July 11. The fewer than a hundred guests included Joaquin Phoenix, Jacqui Getty and Mary Kate Olsen, who busted a move on the patio. The owner of the Los Feliz home, accessories designer 6. Brigette Romanek, center, sidled up to straggler Kate Bosworth and half of the designing duo, Lazaro Hernandez.
