* at Tampa Bay 11, San Diego 4: Carlos Pena hit an eighth-inning grand slam, and Delmon Young delivered two run-scoring singles against Greg Maddux to help the Devil Rays come from behind three times before pulling away.

* at Houston 5, Oakland 4 (11 innings): Brad Ausmus drove in his fourth run of the game with a single in the 11th inning, and the Astros overcame another blown save by Brad Lidge, who gave up a home run to Mark Kotsay leading off the ninth.

* at Minnesota 7, Atlanta 3: Luis Castillo had three hits, drove in two runs and made two excellent plays at second base to lead the Twins. Rookie Kevin Slowey (2-0) gave up two earned runs and seven hits in another solid performance.

* at Kansas City 8, St. Louis 1: Brian Bannister (3-3) won his third consecutive start and Esteban German had three hits and three runs batted in. Bannister hasn’t given up an earned run in 17 consecutive innings.

* Seattle 5, at Chicago Cubs 3 (13 innings): Willie Bloomquist singled in the go-ahead run with two out in the 13th inning and the Mariners won their fifth straight game, a streak in which all of the wins have come in the final at-bat.

* at San Francisco 3, Toronto 2: Barry Bonds hit a go-ahead double in the third inning and Ryan Klesko drove in two runs on his 36th birthday to help Noah Lowry end a three-start winless stretch.

* at New York Yankees 4, Arizona 1: Chien-Ming Wang outpitched Brandon Webb in a matchup of sinkerballers, and streaking Bobby Abreu hit an early three-run homer to help the Yankees win their seventh game in a row.

* Washington 7, at Baltimore 4: Ryan Zimmerman and Brian Schneider each had two-run homers, and Ryan Church hit a solo shot for the Nationals, who got another strong performance from converted reliever Micah Bowie (3-2).

* at Pittsburgh 7, Texas 5: Jose Bautista homered and had three hits, and the Pirates ended a three-game losing streak and won their first interleague game of the season after getting swept by the Yankees.

* at Boston 2, Colorado 1: Tim Wakefield (6-7) pitched eight innings of four-hit ball, and David Ortiz was three for three with a double that helped end an eighth-inning tie. Wakefield won for only the second time in six starts.

* at Detroit 4, Milwaukee 0: Justin Verlander pitched the first no-hitter in Comerica Park history, mixing 100-mph fastballs with curveballs to strike out a career-high 12 batters.

* at Cincinnati 5, Angels 3: Ken Griffey Jr.’s tiebreaking sacrifice fly in the seventh inning helped the Reds overcome a 14-strikeout performance by Kelvim Escobar.

* at Dodgers 4, New York Mets 1: Wilson Betemit, Matt Kemp and pitcher Hong-Chih Kuo (1-1) homered against John Maine on three consecutive pitches in the second inning.
