Stage record: The musical “Wicked” took in more than $1.7 million at the Pantages box office last week, the producers reported Monday, calling it the biggest one-week take in L.A. theater history.

Kahane sidelined: Pianist-conductor Jeffrey Kahane has canceled his March 15, 17 and 18 appearances with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra on the advice of his physician. According to a LACO spokesperson, he has been found to have severe hypertension but is expected to resume his conducting and performing duties in the near future. LACO has not yet announced its new programming plans for those dates.

Life After ‘Borat’: Ken Davitian, the actor who wrestles nude with Sacha Baron Cohen in “Borat,” has inked a role in Warner Bros. Pictures’ big-screen version of “Get Smart,” which will star Steve Carell as Maxwell Smart.
