New pothole-repair plan targets busiest roads

Motorists using the city’s most congested main streets will have a smoother ride as part of a new program of pothole repairs targeting the busiest roadways.
Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced Operation Smooth Ride on Monday as he helped a street crew repair a pothole on Sunset Boulevard.
“Los Angeles’ commuters have enough stress in their lives, and potholes and traffic shouldn’t be part of it,” Villaraigosa said, acknowledging that poor conditions on Los Angeles’ major streets contribute to congestion.
