Woman, baby found dead in Westminster
A Westminster woman in her 30s and a baby girl were found dead Thursday, apparently killed in their Little Saigon apartment, police said.
The victims’ names were not released pending notification of relatives.
They appeared to have been dead for several days, authorities said.
The bodies were found about 12:30 p.m. after the manager of the Tres Vidas apartment complex in the 15100 block of Brookhurst Street called Westminster police to request that officers check on a tenant whom neighbors hadn’t seen in weeks.
Police wouldn’t say how the woman and the girl -- believed to be less than 1 year old -- had died, or what led officers to believe that they had been killed.
Officers had contacted someone at the apartment about three weeks ago, but Officer Van Woodson, a spokesman for the Westminster Police Department, couldn’t say why.
The matter is under investigation, Woodson said.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at (714) 898-3315, Ext. 546.
