Random thoughts out of the blue

Let’s see, Wilson Betemit can’t hit in the eighth spot, he can’t hit in the seventh spot and now he can’t hit in the sixth spot. When is Grady Little going to wise up and put him in the leadoff spot? That way when he doesn’t hit, no one will be on base, so no harm is done.

I’ve been to two Dodgers games this year and I know I’m in the minority, but the parking situation is not as bad as it’s been made out to be.

Although being told where to park is not good, people forget that almost every other stadium does this, so stop acting like it’s something new. It is not the system, it’s the drivers. I noticed that almost everybody spends time complaining to the attendant, thus causing the backup.

As far as leaving the game goes, the traffic is exactly the same: Everybody has to be first even though they know that’s impossible. If Los Angeles drivers would drive with basic common courtesy, traffic would flow freely, as would our freeways.

Bill Plaschke’s piece on the Kirk Gibson ball was fascinating, but here’s the more important question: Why hasn’t anyone come forward to accept the fame and fortune that would go along with acknowledging that you were one of those with a keen sense of history who produced the famous parking lot brake lights?

My son and I arrived at the game in the seventh inning, and would like to publicly thank you for giving us your ticket stubs. Mine is in a frame, autographed by Gibson.

Hell is frozen and pigs are flying! Plaschke is right! Gibson’s ball should remain a mystery. Probably it will not. The owner, who obviously wants to remain out of the limelight, will not live forever, and to the heirs go the spoils. Let the battle begin.
