Two people were killed and another person was hurt in a four-car accident Sunday night in Seal Beach, authorities said.

The collision occurred at 6:35 p.m. at Pacific Coast Highway and Mariner Drive.

Authorities were investigating the cause late Sunday but said there was no initial indication that street racing or drinking were involved.

One of the cars in the collision, a Honda, was split in two by the impact. One person in that car was killed, and another, who was ejected, was taken to a local hospital for treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Bob Mullins of the Seal Beach Police Department.
