* at New York Islanders 3, Pittsburgh 2: Al Arbour, in his return to the bench for one game only, guided the Islanders to victory in his 1,500th game as coach. New York rallied from a two-goal deficit and earned win No. 740 for Arbour. Miroslav Satan scored two goals, including the winner with 2:41 left.
* at Minnesota 4, Calgary 1: Marian Gaborik scored twice and added an assist and the Wild ended a five-game winless streak.
* Atlanta 6, at Tampa Bay 4: Pascal Dupuis scored the go-ahead goal late in the third period and Ilya Kovalchuk had his second consecutive three-goal game.
* at Carolina 4, Florida 2: Matt Cullen had a power-play goal and an assist and Cory Stillman also scored with the man advantage for the Panthers.
* Toronto 3, at Montreal 2: Matt Stajan scored an unassisted goal late in the third period to lift the Maple Leafs.
* at Ottawa 3, Boston 2: Mike Fisher scored two of the Senators’ three power-play goals. Dany Heatley had a goal and an assist.
* at New York Rangers 2, New Jersey 1: Petr Prucha scored the lone goal of the shootout to give the Rangers the win.
* Chicago 3, at St. Louis 2: Patrick Sharp scored two short-handed goals in the third period and the Blackhawks, behind 20 saves by Nikolai Khabibulin, defeated the Blues.
* Canucks 4, at Colorado 3: Daniel Sedin had two goals and the Canucks dealt the Avalanche their first home loss.
* Ducks 5, at Phoenix 2: Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 30 shots and the Ducks extended the Coyotes’ home losing streak to six games.
* San Jose 3, at Kings 1: Jeremy Roenick scored his 499th career goal to put the Sharks ahead to stay.
