at Sacramento 105, Detroit 95: Chauncey Billups’ return from a two-game absence because of a sore knee and hip pointer didn’t help the Pistons, who ended a five-game trip 2-3 with their second straight loss as Billups’ counterpart at point guard Beno Udrih made nine of 13 shots to finish with 23 points and six assists for the Kings. Billups had 14 points and nine assists for Detroit.
Golden State 106, at Toronto 100: Returning from a seven-game suspension for an off-the-court incident, Stephen Jackson scored 17 points to lead all five starters in double figures in the Warriors’ second straight victory after opening with six straight losses. Baron Davis had 16 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Toronto fell to 2-4 at home.
at Orlando 104, Boston 102: Dwight Howard led the way with 24 points and the Magic (50.8%) became the first team to shoot better than 50% against the Celtics in the victory.
at Lakers 106, Chicago 78: An 18-0 run spanning the third and fourth quarters helped lift L.A. to its biggest margin of victory over the Bulls. Laker reserves scored 73 points.
