A man was killed Tuesday afternoon attempting to run across the Metro Rail Blue Line tracks, authorities said.
The man, believed to be in his 50s, died at the scene at 5:48 p.m. The incident occurred at 1840 S. Hill St., said d’Lisa Davies of the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
“It appears that he was trying to beat the train, but tripped, fell and was run over,” Davies said.
Travelers experienced a 20-minute delay before normal service resumed, officials said.
