A man has been arrested in a hit-and-run accident in Orange that left a 13-year-old skateboarder hospitalized with critical head injuries and broken legs, police said.

Roberto Quintanilla, 28, of Anaheim was booked Wednesday on one count of felony hit and run and was being held today on $250,000 bail, said Sgt. Dan Adams of the Orange Police Department.

The teenager was skateboarding in a marked crosswalk near a school at the intersection of Spring and Virage streets about 5:10 p.m. Monday when he was struck by a car. Witnesses said the car stopped momentarily and then drove away.
