Sun Devils lose Torain
Arizona State rushing leader Ryan Torain will miss the rest of the season because of a toe injury.
Sun Devils Coach Dennis Erickson said Wednesday that the senior running back has either a dislocated or broken big toe, possibly both, from Saturday’s victory over Washington.
Torain had rushed for 553 yards and five touchdowns. Keegan Herring will replace him.
Brigham Young offensive lineman Ray Feinga was suspended one game for violating undisclosed team rules. . . . Pittsburgh Coach Dave Wannstedt underwent surgery on his knee and left Achilles’ tendon and will work from the press box Saturday against No. 23 Cincinnati. Offensive coordinator Matt Cavanaugh will switch to the sideline. . . . Suspended Penn State tailback Austin Scott, 22, pleaded not guilty and was ordered to stand trial on felony rape and sexual-assault charges in an alleged Oct. 5 incident at Bellefonte, Pa.
