* at No. 19 Michigan 34, Minnesota 10: Mario Manningham had five receptions for a career-high 162 yards and the Wolverines (7-2, 5-0), winners of seven in a row since opening the season being stunned by Appalachian State and getting routed by Oregon, manhandled the Golden Gophers (1-8, 0-5), losers of eight of their first nine games for the first time in 15 years. Michigan won at Ann Arbor without Mike Hart and Chad Henne, who did not play because of injuries.

* at Illinois 28, Ball State 17: The Fighting Illini (6-3) secured bowl eligibility for the first time since the 2001 season, rallying behind Rashard Mendenhall’s 189 yards rushing and two touchdowns to defeat the Cardinals (5-4) in a nonconference game at Champaign. Illinois hasn’t been to a bowl game since the 2002 Sugar Bowl, a loss to Louisiana State that capped a 10-2 season.

* at Wisconsin 33, Indiana 3: The Badgers (7-2, 3-2) pounded the Hoosiers (5-4, 2-4) with 279 yards rushing in 55 carries at Madison. Indiana, trying to become bowl-eligible for the first time since 1993, was averaging 35.4 points a game but never stood a chance against Wisconsin, which has won 13 in a row at home.

* at Purdue 35, Northwestern 17: Jaycen Taylor ran for a career-high 157 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Boilermakers (7-2, 3-2) at West Lafayette, Ind. C.J. Bacher passed for 208 yards and a touchdown for the Wildcats (5-4, 2-3), but he threw three interceptions.

* at Iowa 34, Michigan State 27: Third-string running back Jevon Pugh scored on a one-yard run in double overtime, and the Hawkeyes (4-5, 2-4) defeated the Spartans (5-4, 1-4) at Iowa City. Iowa was outgained, 468-283.
