* No. 21 Georgia Tech 69, Samford 14: Tashard Choice secured his ninth straight 100-yard game with a 73-yard touchdown run at Atlanta and the Yellow Jackets (2-0) scored their most points in a half (45) since 1916. Choice did not play after rushing for 110 yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter

* at No. 25 Clemson 49, Louisiana Monroe 26: Cullen Harper threw a school-record five touchdown passes, completing 20 of 26 overall, and the Tigers (2-0) beat the Warhawks (0-2) at Clemson, S.C. Harper tied the school’s single-game mark, set by Bobby Gage in 1947 and matched by four others.

* at Boston College 37, North Carolina State 17: The Eagles (2-0, 1-0) ruined Tom O’Brien’s return to the school where he coached for 10 seasons by forcing seven turnovers in a victory over the Wolfpack (0-2, 0-1). Harrison Beck threw five passes that were intercepted, and he also lost a fumble.

* at Virginia 24, Duke 13: Cedric Peerman ran for 137 yards and a touchdown at Charlottesville to help the Cavaliers (1-1, 1-0) hand the Blue Devils (0-2, 0-1) their 22nd consecutive loss.

* at Florida State 34, Alabama Birmingham 24: Drew Weatherford threw for 332 yards and three touchdowns as the Seminoles (1-1) rallied from a two-touchdown deficit at Tallahassee and held off the Blazers (0-2).

* at East Carolina 34, North Carolina 31: Patrick Pinkney threw for 406 yards and three touchdowns in his first start and Ben Hartman shook off three missed field goals to kick the winner on the final play as the Pirates (1-1) beat the Tar Heels (1-1) at Greenville, N.C.

* Maryland 26, at Florida International 10: Keon Lattimore ran for 111 yards and two scores, and the Terrapins (2-0) held off the Golden Panthers (0-2) at Miami.
