* at No. 5 Oklahoma 51, Miami 13: Sam Bradford tied a school record with five touchdown passes and Reggie Smith returned a fumble for a score to lead the Sooners (2-0) over the Hurricanes (1-1) at Norman. It was the first meeting between the teams since the 1988 Orange Bowl. Miami swept three games in the mid-1980s from Oklahoma, the Sooners’ only losses in a three-year span. Miami suffered its most lopsided defeat since a 66-13 loss to Syracuse on Nov. 28, 1998.

* Northern Iowa 24, at Iowa State 13: Eric Sanders passed for two touchdowns and ran for another at Ames as the Panthers (2-0) kept the Cyclones (0-2) winless under new Coach Gene Chizik.

* at Texas Tech 45, Texas El Paso 31: Graham Harrell completed 48 of 64 passes for 484 yards and four touchdowns as the Red Raiders (2-0) came from behind to beat the Miners (1-1) at Lubbock. Texas Tech trailed, 28-17.

* at Baylor 42, Rice 17: Blake Szymanski threw for a school-record 412 yards and six touchdowns and the Bears (1-1) had an easy time against the Owls (0-2) at Waco, Texas. Szymanski finished 29-of-46 passing with no interceptions.

* at Kansas 62, Southeastern Louisiana 0: Todd Reesing threw for 257 yards and two touchdowns and the Jayhawks (2-0) scored on a 74-yard kick return and had two safeties at Lawrence in a rout of the Lions (0-2), who had only 75 yards in total offense.

* at Oklahoma State 42, Florida Atlantic 6: Backup quarterback Zac Robinson passed for 250 yards and three touchdowns, two to Adarius Bowman, and the Cowboys (1-1) beat the Owls (1-1) at Stillwater. Oklahoma State won its home opener for a school-record 12th straight year and improved to 20-1 against current Sun Belt Conference schools.

* at Kansas State 34, San Jose State 14: Josh Freeman threw for 272 yards and a touchdown and ran for a score to lead the Wildcats (1-1) over the Spartans (0-2) at Manhattan. Kansas State won its 18th straight home opener and avoided its first 0-2 start since losing its first three games in 1989.
